About Mocha Remote Client

Mocha Remote Client is an application for the Palm Computing (R) Platform. It enables you to have full, secure access to your work computer through an Internet or network connection. Using your Palm device, you can connect to your Windows work computer and see the files, programs, and resources exactly as you would if you were sitting at your desk, just on a smaller screen.

To connect to a Windows-based computer, you need network access and permissions to connect to the computer, and the computer must be running Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Services. Mocha Remote Client supports sessions with

A hint:menu -about dialog display the current free heap size, which is the same as the dynamic memory.

Menu - Host List

Use this dialog to configure a set of Windows XP Server IP names. When tapping 'Host list' in the connect dialog, a pop up menu will be displayed and a host name can be selected.

Menu - license

After ordering Mocha Remote Client from MochaSoft, a license key will be received.

Set Up Your Windows XP for Remote Client access

You must first enable the Remote Desktop feature on your XP computer so that you can control it remotely from Mocha Remote Client. You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to enable Remote Desktop on your Windows XP Professional-based computer.

    1. Open the System folder in Control Panel. (start - settings - control panel - system)

    2. On the Remote tab, select the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer check box. Notice the user selected must be defined with a password. You can configure users in control panel - User Accounts.

    3. Ensure the user have the proper permissions to connect to your computer remotely, and click OK.

Note If you're running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and you enable Remote Desktop, Windows Firewall will be automatically configured to allow Remote Desktop connections to your computer. However, Remote Desktop will not work if you have Windows Firewall configured to allow no exceptions. To allow exceptions in Windows Firewall, in the control panel open the Security Center, click Windows Firewall and clear the check box next to Don't allow exceptions.

If you have a firewall box installed, the port Remote Client uses is 3389, and it must be open for access from outside.
